Proud to report that my sushi skillz are improving ! Thank you to everyone who supported my holiday pie hustle! Inspired by the Bakeoff I used unthanksgiving/friendsgiving leftovers to make this savory pie it actually freezes really well thanks to the hot water crust. #leftovers Made these really good lemon cakes. It’s like a soufflé on top and lemon curd on the bottom due to the water bath. Had a blast at AMERSA in Portlad last week. I'm hooked on the food cart scene. The vegan options were plentiful everywhere but MoleMolePdx was a highlight. Been baking with a lot of sourdough discard lately and honestly have had quite a few misses, but the sourdough crust on this apple pie was excellent! I have been playing around with naturally leavened bread (hit me up if you need sourdough starter). Sourdough is more of a relationship/alchemy than a recipe and my last batch failed at sourdough (overproofed) but succeeded as focaccia! Had a meeting end early so whipped up some churros!Growing up in LA churros were a staple sweet treat so I was surprised to learn they are Spanish and not Mexican as I always assumed. They are also naturally vegan. Some of the best food in Stockton is served on the street. These Tlayudas or “Oaxacan Pizzas” are hard to find in California but this spot nailed it and made me a veggie version. #stockton #209
